The breath of autumn comes
And the flower fades
The petals and leaves fall
Upon the ground they are laid.

The harsh winds of winter
Rushes in with its fury
The grass has withered and gone,
And the earth seems so weary.

Who can stand against the cold
And not feel alone?
Who will be standing in spring
Wandering where winter has gone?

With the Word of God
Deep down in our being
We will stand against the cold
And usher in the spring.

It is the Word of God
That will stand forever
It is the Word of God
That will leave us never.

The only thing that is forever...
The only thing that is true...
Is the Word of God...
That He gave to me and to you.

To weather our winter’s storms
Or see the flowers in full array
We must have the Word of God
That keeps us from day to day.
